Efficient and flexible space
Completed in March 2008, Tesco.com's new headquarters provide a 4,500m² workplace environment, tailored to their specific needs down to the smallest detail. To provide a balanced quality of workplace environment and promote interaction and collaboration, staff are provided with attractive dining and break-out spaces, and a range of formal and informal meeting and brainstorming areas.
As part Tesco's drive for efficiency from the project, the base build ventilation and cooling capacities were doubled to enable the business to occupy the office space on bench desking at a density of 1 person per 5 m². Many of the design elements introduced in these offices will now be brought into other Tesco workplace environments.
